With over 30 years of progressive leadership experience, Thusitha has held senior finance roles across a wide range of industries, demonstrating deep expertise in financial strategy, operational efficiency, and stakeholder engagement. Most recently, he served as the Group Chief Financial Officer of a leading tertiary care healthcare institution, where he was responsible for group-level financial planning, reporting, pricing, compliance, and Board advisory. In parallel, he provided strategic consultancy to a diversified business group in the hospitality, real estate, and interior solutions sectors.
His experience in the education industry includes leading the finance function of a major international school group and higher education provider, overseeing strategic planning, property development, project financing, and managing international academic partnerships. In the transportation and logistics sector, he managed the finance operations of a global air express brand’s local arm, focusing on treasury, compliance, and systems development.
In the construction sector, he served as Group Financial Controller of a top-tier firm, leading ERP implementations, project costing, risk management, and financial oversight. His background in manufacturing and FMCG includes finance leadership for a multinational brand, where he focused on product costing, budget control, and vendor management. Earlier in his career, he gained valuable experience in the agriculture sector, especially in tea and sugar plantation management, statutory reporting, and financial governance.
Starting his professional journey in audit and finance roles within two major corporate groups, he developed a solid foundation in internal controls, compliance, variance analysis, and financial reporting, which continues to inform his strategic perspective today.
